Who do you think you are? -- a tough question, indeed. Especially if it is asked by someone you consider dear. If we come to think of it, its this one question which has led to some of the biggest wars and ego clashes in history.
Honestly speaking, it is in the process of finding an appropriate answer to this question that we become who we are. In the modern day world, we build our careers around this quest. We strive for an acceptable identity in this society, thanks to this pressing question. We spend our entire energy in solving this mystery. Earlier, a mere 'son of such person' , a 'man from this village/community' seems to have done the trick. Not anymore, mind ya!
Maybe, civilizations/ so-called races/ religions/ ethnic groups fight it out and kill each other thanks to this identity quest. Well, what truly is the purpose of posing this question? Information? - na, not at all! Maybe, its a reflection of the doubt lingering the mind of the being which asks this which pushes for one such question. In that case, I pity you :P
So, when a question of this intensity is tweaked as a light humour I find myself bewildered. Somehow, i could not relate myself to the joke. Now then, who am I? :P
